This list of web sites contains links to health information resources on the Internet. Here, you can learn more about problems you have and medications you have been advised to take. We have identified these web sites; however, we have not read every word. Some of the information presented on these sites contradicts my opinion. You should use those differences of opinion to challenge me. In this way, you can receive the best advice possible.

Patient Site
Patient Site allows you to connect to your medical record.

Follow these steps to set up your Patient Site account.
  1. Connect to the Patient Site web site.
  2. Click on the "Register Now" link.
  3. You will be prompted to select your provider from a list.
  4. Select Dr. Harold Solomon.
  5. Next, you will be prompted to type in your demographic information.
  6. Upon submitting this information, your provider's office will verify your request. You will receive a login id and password via email.
MedlinePlus
MedlinePlus will direct you to information to help answer health questions. MedlinePlus brings together, by health topic, authoritative information from NLM, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), other government, non-profit and other health-related organizations. Preformulated MEDLINE searches are included in MedlinePlus and give easy access to the medical research literature. It also provides you with a database of full-text drug information and an illustrated medical encyclopedia.

Center for Disease Control Flu Vaccination Information
CDC’s most up-to-date page that provides the source about the flu and flu vaccination, and measures to prevent and treat flu and flu related conditions.

Havard Center for Cancer Prevention
Harvard’s site for interactively assessing risks of certain diseases including cancer, diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, and stroke. This site presents a set of anonymous questions that it then uses to deduce your risk profile, and then suggests ways to prevent the occurrence of these conditions.

NIH/Office of Dietary Supplements
An authoritative source for vitamins and other supplement guidelines. This site includes associated benefits, risks, and guidelines for taking dietary supplements in accordance with your doctor’s advice.

The Mayo Clinic's Tools For Healthier Lives
Mayo clinic’s Tools for Healthier Lives is a user friendly site that incorporates sections on “diseases and conditions,” “drugs and supplements,” and “treatment decisions.”

National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine
Published by The National Institutes of Health (NIH), this site serves the purpose to inform the patient about vitamins and other supplements and their recognized benefits/risks. It is important that you advise your doctor or nutritionist of any dietary supplements that you are taking.

The Virtual Hospital
Resources for both patients and physicians are found at this site out of the University of Iowa. The site's missions is "to make the Internet a useful medical reference and health promotion tool for health care providers and patients."
